[livejournal.com profile] dr_whom's fault. "Pick ten of your favorite novels, look them up on Amazon.com, and find the list of Statistically Improbably Phrases for those novels. Pick a few SIPs from each novel, list them here, and then have people guess what books they are." I suspect I'm obscure enough (both in who reads this and in what I read) not to bother, but one ID per person please. I was trying for only one book per author and failed, but at least the failure represents a large concentration on my shelves...

1. rubbish vans, ginger boy, museum yard
2. nabbing culls, sacred dish, gentry cove
3. little shaman, butterfly knife, wild hunt
4. mortal prisoner, gray creature, boiled grain, fairy woman
5. ability threshold, funding form, sensitivity exercise
6. lance constable, good copper, cigar case
7. vomit bugs, uterine replicator, undress greens
8. open third eye, thin dogs, heat shimmer
9. making cinnamon rolls, master vampire, table knife
10. quack chicks, staff car park, young centaur
